Through specialized equipment and trained staff, our programs are designed to encourage people of all abilities to recreate together, providing opportunities to develop skills and share outdoor experiences in every season. Activities we offer include:cross-country skiing, sit cross-country skiing, ice skating, sled skating, snowshoeing, kayaking and canoeing, cycling, camping, hiking, and letterboxing.

Our programs are open to people with disabilities and their family and friends. See specific programs for eligibility.

Some of the disabilities represented at our programs inlcude: age-related disabilities, amputee, autism, brain injury (acquired or traumatic), blind or visual impairment, deaf or hearing impairment, multiple sclerosis, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, muscular dystrophy, developmental, cognitive, psychiatric. The majority of our participants are adults, however, children participate in our programs frequently.

Universal Access Program
Currently, much of our programming is run in collaboration with the Department of Conservation and Recreation's Universal Access Program (UAP). This allows us to offer high-quality outdoor recreation experiences in state parks for people with disabilities at a nominal fee.

Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP)
Programs funded by the Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP) are specifically for people with acquired brain injuries and their family and friends.  

Easthampton Residents Program
New this year, we are very excited to offer accessible cycling, nature walking, and kayaking to residents of Easthampton with disabilities and their guests. This program is sponsored by the City of Easthampton through a Department of Housing & Community Development MA Community Development Block Grant.

Cycling for Seniors Program
Thanks to the generosity of Tufts Health Plan Foundation and the Universal Access Program, we are able to offer a weekly cycling program for seniors (60+).

Kayaking for Seniors Program
Weekly kayaking program for seniors (60+). This program is funded by The Nan and Matilda Heydt Fund and The Valley Charitable Trust Fund,  administered by Bank of America and distributed through the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.

Participant Forms
Every participant in our programs will need a current participant waiver on file. Waivers are updated each calendar year.  Many of our weekly and special event programs are run in collaboration with the Universal Access Program—
we've simplified the process by creating a combined waiver that will serve for both organizations.  Download the combined waiver here:
